    Trend Micro Canada is looking for a Security Operations Engineer to join our dynamic DevOps organization located in Ottawa, Canada. 

     

    As a Security Operations Engineer you will:

    • Be in charge with building, maintaining and operating cloud security controls.
    • Enhance existing security event sources integrate with SIEM and design actionable alerts and reports.
    • Work in sync with cloud operations engineers and identify areas to enhance security into their current processes and tooling.
    • Collaborate with developers to enable them to monitor and react to security events as well as continuously suggest and test telemetry improvements.
    • Be in charge with evidence collection for internal and external compliance audits.

    Qualifications:

    • 2 years working in a security operations role
    • Excellent understanding of AWS cloud security aspects
    • Technical expertise operating Splunk from a security perspective
    • Advanced knowledge of web applications and web protocols
    • Advanced knowledge of Linux Operating systems
    • Advanced knowledge of networking
    • Experience with incident response and forensic analysis
    • Experience with defining and refining rules for IDS/IPS/WAF
    • Good understanding of programming, scripting and debugging

    Nice to haves:

    • Certifications: AWS Certified Security, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Security+, CySA+, CASP
    • Offensive security experience
    • Application security experience
    • Development experience
    • Related open source projects, articles or presentations

    Education:

    • College or university in computer science, computer engineering or IT Security
