    Trend Micro TippingPoint has a long history of providing in-line, real time vulnerability threat protection featuring high-inspected throughput and low latency.  Our Threat Management team develops software that maximize network security protection by effective deployment of security intelligence and policy, enabling threat discovery, protection and providing prioritized threat visibility. Our software is a Java Enterprise application, distributed as an appliance, based on JBoss, MariaDB, Vertica, CentOS.  The client, currently a Swing application, is planned to migrate to browser-based technologies.

     

    TrendMicro TippingPoint is looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to supervise a team of senior Java developers and oversee the delivery of new releases of the product.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Manage team up to 20 developers and QA engineers broken into multiple agile teams. Manage training and continuous development of staff.
    • Collaborate with Product Manager to staff and deliver products that help solve customer problems
    • Work with large development teams located in multiple global regions
    • Facilitate excellent user experience, working with User Interface designers, User Experience experts, and subject matter experts to ensure product consistency and intuitive design
    • Ensure timely and responsive support of issues reported by customers in the field and escalated from the Sustaining Engineering team
    • Ensure process is followed and good software engineering practices are in place
    • Collaborate with QA team to ensure good feature test coverage, system and interoperability test are adequate, performance and scalability goals are met, and defect fixes are verified
    • Facilitate product documentation deliverables are met through collaboration between developers and Product Documentation group

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • First level university degree or equivalent experience required. May have advanced university degree.
    • 8-10 years of related work experience, including 3 years of people management experience

    Experience Required

    • Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team-building, and conflict resolution.
    • Able to effectively motivate team members to set and achieve the corporate and individual goals
    • Ability to effectively communicate goals, schedule, status, issues and risks to multiple levels both internal and external to the organization
    • Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills
    • Experience working with customers during product design and development
    • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
    • SCRUM/Agile leadership experience, preferably certified Scrum Master
    • Managing Java Enterprise projects
