    The Security Analyst is responsible for managing the deployment, configuration, incident handling and resolution for Trend Micro managed service customers. The Security Analyst proactively monitors customer’s environments updating agents and infrastructure as necessary, reviewing security events from anti-malware, intrusion prevention, integrity monitoring and event logs, coordinating needed corrective action with the customer. The Security Analyst also periodically scans customer assets for vulnerabilities and applies new rules for mitigation of exploits.  Security Analyst will work directly with customers online and via telephone from the Trend Micro Security Operation Centre in Dallas, Texas  7am to 7pm CST.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Configure and manage customer installations to optimize security, compliance, performance and reliability.
    • Respond to emerging threats and vulnerabilities with a well-coordinated and smoothly executed action plan to mitigate customer risk.
    • Investigate incidents providing analysis, recommending security control enhancements and implementing necessary changes.
    • Communicate security events and actions to customers promptly following established escalation plans.
    • Document all work and secure any approvals required via agreed workflow or ticketing systems.
    • Produce, publish and discuss regular service reporting with each managed service customer.
    • Participate as required in customer meeting to discuss security architecture, upgrades, incidents, vulnerabilities and compliance requirements.
    • Document and escalate through Trend management product defects and issues that may be encountered in customer deployments.
    • Make recommendations and develop aids (scripts, software tools, documents) to improve the efficiency of managing a multi customer environment.
    • Share best practices with other Security Analysts and Trend support team members to enhance the quality and efficiency of support.
    • Maintain and expand working knowledge of Trend Micro products as well as their integration in physical, cloud and virtualized environments.


    The ideal Security Analyst will hold an industry recognized security technical certification (e.g. CISSP, GIAC, SSCP etc.).  Experience working in a Security Operations Center environment managing multiple technologies and assets would be advantageous. They will demonstrate a strong aptitude for learning new technologies, evidenced by their ability to expand upon core knowledge quickly. They should be highly analytical with the ability to derive facts quickly, methodically, and accurately. This is a customer-facing role where you will work to optimize the customer’s security through expert design and deployment of Trend Micro security modules.  As the Security Analyst, you must be able to effectively setup and configure complex deployments in traditional physical, virtualized or cloud (AWS, Azure) environments.


    Demonstrated proficiency with security as it relates to several of the following:

    • Virtualization and/or cloud technologies such as VMware vSphere, VMware Workstation, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS. Emphasis on VMware.
    • Microsoft Windows, including ability to troubleshoot services, applications, and drivers
    • Linux, Unix
    • Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems
    • Security tools, technologies and processes
    • Network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP etc.)
    • Strong endpoint security experience, including design, implementation, and management
    • Network technologies (firewalls, routers, switches)
    • Familiarity with devops tools such as Chef, Puppet
    • Ability to develop software tools and scripts to automate routine tasks and reports.
    • Experience in supporting and troubleshooting end-point security solutions
    • Firewall, VPN, IDS and related network security design and implementation
    • VMware, Cisco or any Security Certifications a plus

    Experience Required

    • A minimum of 4-5 years of related experience
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
    • Self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized, attention to detail and accountable
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Extreme attention to detail
    • Enjoys problem solving and displays an eagerness to learn new technologies/skills
    • Other related interests such as Ethical Hacking, malware analysis or penetration testing
    • Able to debug problems and deliver solutions with a high level of customer satisfaction
    • Ability to work through complex problems and isolate core issues, combined with superb troubleshooting logic
    • Ability to present to small groups of technical individuals
    • Able to work calmly and efficiently under stressful conditions or security outbreaks.
