    Platform developers are responsible for providing the operational software infrastructure necessary for efficient, robust, and highly-available network security applications. This includes implementing device drivers, porting operating systems, interfacing with custom ASICs and FPGAs, creating and managing APIs for hardware interaction, handling device bring-up and shutdown, and debugging interactions between hardware and software. The candidate should be comfortable working in a cross-functional team involving hardware and FPGA design, quality assurance, system architecture, and external ASIC and operating system vendors.

     

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
    • Minimum 2-4 years experience

    Minimum Requirements

    • Experience developing software for embedded systems
    • Experience in multi-threaded software design on multi-core systems
    • Strong programming in C, working experience with C++
    • Experience using real-time debuggers to track down issues in code
    • Ability to read and understand hardware datasheets
    • Knowledge of Linux kernel
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience driving root cause analysis investigations
    • Passion for execution in a fast-paced, high-performance work environment

    Preferred Experience

    • Embedded Linux development
    • (SMP & AMP)
    • Kernel space & User space
    • GDB
    • Experience with x86 architecture
    • Experience with driver development
    • Experience with PCI/PCI-E, I2C, IPMI, and other bus interfaces
    • Experience with hardware bring up
    • Experience writing hardware diagnostic test code
