    Trend Micro TippingPoint has a long history of providing in-line, real time vulnerability threat protection featuring high-inspected throughput and low latency.  Our Security Management System (SMS) manages all TippingPoint network security devices.  With over 4000 installations in most of the Fortune 500, the SMS is a Java Enterprise application, distributed as an appliance, based on JBoss, MariaDB, Vertica, CentOS.  The client, currently a Swing application, is scheduled to be migrated to browser-based technologies.

    SMS is currently seeking a senior experienced Software Engineering Manager to supervise a team of senior Java developers and oversee the delivery of new releases of the product.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Serve as Scrum Master for a development team of 10-20 developers
    • Work closely with other Development Managers contributing to the product
    • Collaborate with Product Owner to staff and deliver product features
    • Oversee the development of new product features in a release train of approximately 2 releases per year
    • Ensure timely and responsive support of issues reported by customers in the field and escalated from the Sustaining Engineering team
    • Ensure process is followed and good software engineering practices are in place
    • Perform release planning and determine release schedule
    • Collaborate with QA Manager to ensure good feature coverage, system and interoperability test are adequate, performance and scalability goals are met, and defect fixes are verified
    • Monitor and report on project progress to management, product management, and other stakeholders
    • Facilitate product documentation deliverables are met through collaboration between developers and Product Documentation group
    • Collaborate with Technical Support and Product Training to provide knowledge transfer and ensure level 3 technical support requirements are met
    • Facilitate excellent user experience, working with User Interface designers, User Experience experts, and subject matter experts to ensure product consistency and intuitive design

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • First level university degree or equivalent experience required. May have advanced university degree.
    • 8+ years of related work experience, including 3 years of people management experience

    • Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills
    • Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies
    • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
    • Strong communication skills (e.g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language
    • SCRUM/Agile leadership experience, preferably certified Scrum Master
    • Managing Java Enterprise projects
    • Navigating big organizations
    • Close collaboration with QA, knowledge of QA best practices
    • People skills – negotiating, mediating, mentoring, career development
