The HR Generalist is a member of the Americas HR team responsible for providing support and guidance within Canada. This includes, but is not limited to: HR Operations, Employee Relations, Recruitment, and Benefit support. The ideal candidate will have well rounded progressive HR experience with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Human Resources function in the areas of: employee onboarding and orientation, on campus recruitment, employee relations and special projects. 
  • Provide Applicant Tracking System (Icims) support, including: scheduling, pre-employment screening, background checks, offer letters, and updates to the HRIS system with new hire information.
  • Serve as initial point of contact to employee for routine inquiries.
  • Works with guidance exercising judgement and discretion.
  • Handle employee walk-in requests and/or identify proper resolution and when necessary ensure effective hand-off occurs.
  • Recruiting support - interviewing and scheduling interviews as needed.
  • Benefit Administration support.
  • Assist with Global Mobility programs, immigration processes and compensation policies and practices that contribute to the organization's ability to attract and retain qualified personnel (Salary Review, Variable Comp, vacation and leave tracking, etc.).
  • HRIS reporting support for compliance requirements and various insurance programs.
  • Assist with other projects/duties assigned as needed.


  • 1-2 years of experience in a Generalist role
  • Exposure to an ATS and HRIS
  • Understanding of HR principles
  • Basic understanding of compensation reporting, techniques and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated self-starter and self-manager
  • Persistent follow through on assignments
  • Exceptional verbal/written skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to consistently deliver high quality customer service in a professional manner
  • Strict confidentiality of employee and company data
  • Collaborative and flexible approach to all team duties and support
  • An interest/understanding of technology is an asset
  • Educational experience in HR
  • Proficient in MS office; advance Excel skills preferred
