    The principle responsibilities for QA Automation Engineers(Software Developer Engineer in Test, SDET) at TippingPoint is to create new test automation, add additional feature support to the test framework and support the QA organization in its automation goals.  The position is challenging but extremely rewarding.  We like problem solvers, leaders and those who can embrace change.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Work with cross-functional teams (Architects, Developers, QA) in test automation activities across the organization
    • Automate and document tests from existing test cases/scenarios and new feature specifications
    • Help investigate, evaluate, select, and integrate best available framework/tool solutions as required for test automation success
    • Appreciate and consider the "big picture" while dealing with implementation details
    • Work to continuously improve test automation concepts and best practices, automation testing strategies, and test case design specifications
    • Contribute to production of automation templates, examples, and training collateral
    • Manage source code and administer revision control system
    • Manage and administer various other development tools like static code analysis, defect tracking, CI server
    • Virtual Machine deployment(Vmware, KVM, OpenStack)             
    • Support and mentor junior level automation engineers to be successful at producing in-sprint automation.
    • Participate on a Scum team, including all Agile and Scrum related ceremonies

    Experience Required

    • Experience with version control software (e.g., git, svn)
    • Experience with object oriented programming languages and techniques (e.g., Java, Python)
    • Experience with Linux operating system variants                             
    • Experience with networking concepts, protocols
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Working knowledge of Agile development (e.g., Jira, Rally)
    • Working knowledge of virtualization (KVM, VMWare) a plus
    • BS CS/CE or related field and/or equivalent industry experience
    • 2-3 years’ relevant experience
