    Software System Performance Specialist (Ottawa, ON)

    As a part of the Deep Security team at Trend Micro, you will participate as part of a dynamic and talented team that develops the next generation of Trend Micro’s security products. Your role will be to assist our R&D team to design, implement and test high quality software capabilities for data center and cloud based systems. You will leverage your expertise in system performance and scalability and be responsible to implement high quality performance and scalability processes and tools. This is a role requiring programming experience using Java technologies as well as proven test automation abilities and a high degree of adaptability and creativity. This role will require system performance domain expertise and an ability to share your expertise among others on the team.     We’re looking for someone who:

    • Loves to work on a great cross functional team collaborating effectively with various groups to understand business objectives, customer needs and gaps, and deliver on the team objectives
    • Will demonstrate excellence in performance analysis, system scalability and technical innovation and has a demonstrated commitment to product quality.
    • Has working experience as a technical leader and proven experience collaborating effectively with various groups and team members including external or remote teams.
    • Is highly proficient in areas of large scale system performance testing including reliability, availability, scalability and performance of large server and/or cloud based software systems.
    • Has experience and a solid understanding of virtualization and cloud computing concepts and technologies.
    • Programming experience using Java and technologies such as J2EE, Apache Tomcat, Service Oriented Architecture, and Web Services.
    • Has great scripting skills, always prefer to automate in favor of manual work
    • Has a proactive, customer-oriented approach when troubleshooting problems and resolving issues related to product, process and tools.
    • Has a desire or experience working in a security space.
    • Has a Bachelor of Computer Science degree (or equivalent).
