We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. This role is not enterprise-wide, rather it will improve, design, and implement DevOps processes and tooling to support Trend Micro's vulnerability intelligence efforts.  The vulnerability intelligence capability leverages globally-distributed vulnerability research and threat sensors to deliver actionable guidance to the product teams inside Trend Micro. The DevOps engineer role will automate testing, integration, deployment, and ensuring the security of, internal systems as well as those exposed to the public.  Optionally, the role can involve the publication of relevant content as blogs, white papers, or presentations that may be presented at conferences and tradeshows around the world.

If you have a passion for automating "all-the-things", we'd love to hear from you.

Duties & Responsibilities

The DevOps engineer will be responsible for collaborating with, and blurring the lines between, developers, analysts, and administrators with an approach that includes deploying rapidly, frequently, reliably, and securely.  The role must automate software delivery and infrastructure changes.  "Infrastructure as code" is an organization-wide goal and management is committed to realizing it.  The role can optionally entail tool and application development, but must be capable of scripting to connect disparate tools and tool outputs.

  • 1+ year experience in the DevOps domain - 3+ years experience is a plus. Experience as a traditional developer or administrator is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in common DevOps and virtualization tools such as Packer, Chef, and VMware vSphere products - experience with Vagrant is a plus.
  • Some experience scripting on both Microsoft Windows and Linux OSes - strong experience on both operating systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Ruby and/or Python - additional experience with Go and/or Elixir is a plus.
  • Datacenter experience is also a plus.
